On Monday August 29th 2011, the Kennett Fire Company was alerted to Nine Gates Road in Kennett Township for a reported Car Fire. Engine 24-1 responded and arrived on scene to find one vehicle in the roadway well off. Chief 24 established command and the crew from Engine 24-1 stretched a 2 inch attack line into service. The Engine 24-1 crew knocked down the bulk of the fire. It was evident that the fuel tank of the vehicle had ruptured, therefore class B foam was applied to the fire. The fire was placed under control and 24 units cleared the scene shortly after. Photos by Doug Rivell.
