Last night, Kennett Fire Company was dispatched to assist Avondale Fire Company on a barn fire off of London Tract Road. A passerby called 911 stating they saw a large amount of flames coming from a building off the road. Crews arrived on scene initially confirming the report of a barn about 50' X 50' fully involved with exposure to another larger barn. Hand lines were used and a safe perimeter was kept wet to keep the fire from spreading. Technivate, a company who specializes in the use of heavy machinery, was utilized to break apart and re-stack the fire to help firefighters extinguish the flames safely. Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of this fire.
