Kennett Ambulance Fleet Doubles

Earlier this year, Kennett Fire Company began the exciting quest of shopping for an additional ambulance. Kennett's Ambulance Officers and Executive Board looked at a few different units prior to learning that Parkesburg Fire Company, a neighboring Chester County EMS provider, was in the process of replacing their current Ambulance for a different model. Parkesburg was currently running a 2003 Ford/Horton Ambulance that was in excellent condition with low mileage. Kennett jumped at the opportunity to purchase the unit, and picked it up from Parkesburg in late August. Just days later, Kennett Fire Company placed the newly acquired Ambulance 24-2 into service. The new unit made its debut at Kennett Square's Annual Mushroom Festival.

Similar to Ambulance 24-1, Ambulance 24-2 is equipped with all the necessary supplies required by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, as well as an AED, firefighting gear, SCBA equipment, rehabilitation supplies for fire-ground operations, and a variety of medical triage equipment. With the addition of Ambulance 24-2, Kennett Ambulance volunteers and career paid staff are now capable of fielding two Ambulances simultaneously, as well as a third unit made available by Stat Care Ambulance.
