| It was a wet, rainy evening in Kennett Square when Kennett Fire Company was dispatched to Kaolin road and Round Hill road for an auto accident. Chief 24 arrived on scene to one vehicle off the road into a tree. The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene. On the way to the call, the Engine crew spotted a young man poorly dressed for this weather, about 100 yards off the road in a field. Pennsylvania State Police were notified and, with a speedy response, came and apprehended the male who was in fact the driver of the vehicle. The fire company provided traffic control while Mercer Restorations removed the vehicle from the roadway. Remember to drive cautiously on wet roads. Your stopping distance increases significantly so maintain a safe distance between you and any other vehicles. |
