Over the weekend, EMT's Travis Tome, Rick Franks, Steve Nuse, Mark Plumley, and Chris Plumley furthered their education in the Emergency medical Service World. At a class hosted by Tac-Med, these providers learned how to handle EMS in a hostile environment utilizing cooperation with law enforcement and other organizations to complete the operation. Focus remained on handling major medical scenarios involved in a tactical environment while maintaining team safety. The crew had a lot of fun and certainly were educated.

Information changes regularly in the medical field. The PA Department of Health requires all EMTs to further their education by taking medically related classes. We are required at least 24 hours of class time every three years as well as a few other certification renewal. Kennett Fire Company supports the further education of our medical providers to ensure the best care to our community.
