Kennett Fire Company was dispatched to assist Avondale Fire Company with an Engine to Baltimore Pike in Avondale Borough for a building fire. Initial report was a delivery person arrived on scene to their destination, opened the door, and found the facility to be full of smoke. The delivery person exited quickly and notified 911 immediately. Crews from Avondale and West Grove arrived to find a small fire in the rear of the facility. The fire was quickly extinguished and put under control. Utilities were secured to the affected area to ensure safety. Overhaul of the wall and ceiling was completed to ensure no extension of the fire to other parts of the facility. The facility was fully ventilated to remove all smoke and hazardous gases. Fire Marshals were notified and responded immediately for further investigation.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by Chester County Fire Marshals. Nobody was injured on this incident.
