Relief Association President Tony D'Ottavio approved the final drawings and electrical plan on March 18 for the Pace American Fire Police Trailer. Though this piece of equipment will not see much service it will be extremely useful when needed. The 30ft. tandem axle trailer is devided into 3 compartments. The forward compartment will house two private bathrooms, a hand wash station and smalll first-aid station. The middle compartment will be for storage of fire police equipment and supplies, extra clothing and charging station for extra flashlight and radio batteries. The rear compartment will house a future ATV (or 2) equipped to transport and resupply fire police personell at any large incident, especially an assignment involving search and rescue or protection of a large perimeter. When the ATV is removed, fold down desk tops allow the rear compartment to be used as a command post. Extra lighting, wall plugs, large side windows, heating and air conditioning have been installed to make this a comfortable and functional work station. An additional air conditioning unit is being installed in the front (bathroom) compartment. Power will be supplied by a portable generator carried in the rear compartment along with all necessary lighting equipment. Until the Fire Police secure a newer vehicle capable of pulling the trailer the current Fire Prevention F-350 will be the tow vehicle of choice.

The trailer is scheduled to be completed by April 22, 2005 and we should see it here in Kennett by April 30. Eric Duryinski will handle lettering and Herb Steele will be in charge of interior shelving and finish work. Fire Police Captain Tony Flores will be responsible for training and placing the vehicle in service when he feels we are ready.

Although the concept for this piece of equipment has been tossed around for years the project of making it a reality has taken just over two years.
