At 1:14pm on Saturday, February 26th, Kennett Fire Company, Longwood Fire Company, and the PA State Police responded to an automobile accident with a vehicle overturned in the southbound lanes of Route 1 at the North Mill Road overpass near mile-marker 20.5.

Responders arrived to find a pick-up truck on its side in the left-hand lane with a trailer attached to it. Chief 25 reported that there were no injuries. Kennett's Rescue 24 and Longwood's Engine 25-2 took blocking positions in the left lane to help protect the scene. Fire Police from both fire companies closed both southbound travel lanes but allowed traffic to continue past the scene on the shoulder while awaiting Blittersdorf's Towing to arrive. Once Blittersdorf's arrived, Fire Police closed Route 1 southbound at Route 82 to allow fire and tow crews to safely clean up and clear the accident scene without risk of injury from passing motorists.

Fire Police from Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company also assisted with the road closure.

Crews cleared the scene around 2:45pm.
