At 11:16am on Sunday, September 4th, Kennett Fire Company and Longwood Fire Company were dispatched for a vehicle fire in the 300 block of W. Cedar Street in Kennett Square Borough. Kennett's Engine 24 arrived to find smoke coming from the engine compartment of a pick-up truck. Kennett Square police officers had extinguished the flames with fire extinguishers before Engine 24's arrival, but firefighters dowsed the engine compartment with water to ensure that the fire was out and to cool the engine area down.
