At 2:51am on Saturday, October 22nd, Kennett Fire Company, Longwood Fire Company, and Hockessin Fire Company were dispatched for an automobile accident with a vehicle overturned on Chandler Mill Road near Ewart Road. The overnight volunteer duty crew sleeping at the station responded within one minute of being dispatched.

Engine 24 arrived at the scene to find one vehicle on its side with no occupants. The crew removed debris from the roadway and returned to the station. Fire police from Kennett and Longwood remained at the scene with the road closed until Blittersdorf's Towing arrived and removed the vehicle.

Fire police opened the roadway and cleared the scene at 4:00am.
