Around 8:15am on Sunday, November 13th, Kennett Fire Company and Longwood Fire Company were dispatched for an automobile accident on the northbound Route 1 By-Pass in the area of mile-marker 21.7. Crews arrived to find one vehicle off the roadway and into the treeline just north of the Route 82 on-ramp to northbound Route 1, with one patient trapped. The patient was checked and determined to be deceased. Firefighters removed the patient from the vehicle.

Fire police from both fire companies provided traffic control until Blitterdorf's Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.

The accident was investigated by the PA State Police.

The last units cleared the scene at 12:30pm.
