On Wednesday, November 30th, Kennett Fire Company Fire Fighters Joseph Wendling and Michael Casson graduated from Chester County Fire Training Academy with Firefighter 1 certification. The Pennsylvania Entry Level Firefighter curriculum is composed of four separate courses that together require 188 hours of both classroom and hands-on training. The training at times is rigorous and includes several days of live-smoke and live-fire training. Students must be in good physical condition in order to complete the class.

Joseph was selected by the graduating class to represent them at graduation as Class Speaker. He joined the Kennett Fire Company in April 2022. Since joining Joseph has now completed not only his Fire Fighter 1 certification but also his Emergency Medical Technician-Basic certification. EMT is another 200 hour course.

Michael joined the company in October of 2019, following his father and brother before him. Michael has also successfully completed both his Firefighter 1 and Emergency Medical Technician courses.

Please help us in congratulating both individuals in this great accomplishment. We looking forward to working with both in the future.
