On the weekend of March 20th and 21st, 3 Kennett Firefighters participated in Water Rescue Operations or better know as, Water Rescue & Emergency Response training with The Downingtown Fire Department and White Cap Water Rescue on the Brandywine River. The weekend training consisted of rescue planning, medical considerations, as well as self rescue and shore based rescue techniques. Upon completion of the course, members were certified by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission in Water Rescue Operations. The Kennett Fire Company No. 1 would like to thank The Alert Fire Company No. 1 of Downingtown (Station 45) for their generous hospitality and the opportunity to train with them. Stay tuned in as The Kennett Fire Company will take the Advanced Lines Rescue Systems course this coming weekend to continue their water rescue training to better help serve the community.
