On the morning of September 26th, 2010 The Kennett Fire Company No.1 was dispatched with Longwood Fire Company (Station 25) for a full company and Avondale Fire Company (Station 23) for two engines for a reported dwelling fire. Chief 24 quickly responded and arrived on scene to find smoke showing from side A. Upon further investigation there was a heavy smoke condition on the first floor in the area of the kitchen and the fire appeared to be out. The balance was re-called. Engine 24-1 shortly arrived on scene. The crew from Engine 24-1 checked for extension in the kitchen and provided horizontal ventilation. 24 and 25 crews were in service for approximately 20 minutes.
