On Thursday November 4th 2010, The Kennett Fire Company was alerted to the Fairfield Inn on E. Baltimore Pike in Kennett Township for a possible Hazmat Incident after a hotel room was found to have suspicious chemical bottles. Engine 24-1 arrived and evacuated the building and secured working zones for the Hazmat Team. The Chester County Hazmat team arrived and conducted a sweep of the hotel room and found results to be negative for hazardous materials. Kennett Fire Company members remained on scene to assist the Chester County Hazmat Team, the scene was turned over to PSP Avondale.
