Avondale Fire Company was dispatched at 14:36 April 5 in the area of Laurel Heights Rd. for a woods fire. Chiefs arrived on scene to find about 1/4+ acre involved with exposure to a house. Crews quickly took a defensive position with hose lines to protect the house, and began extinguishing the fire. Due to the terrain of the area, Kennett Fire Company was dispatched along with Hockesson and West Grove for assisting units. Kennett arrived with Brush, Tac, Tanker, Squad and the ATV 24 for off road capabilities. Cause of the incident is still under investigation by fire marshals, no one was injured during this incident.
