At 18:27, April 16, Kennett Fire Company was dispatched to Baltimore Pike area for a brush fire. Initial report was from a resident at a nearby hotel, they could see the fire from their room behind a residence along Baltimore Pike. Units responded to the area to find a small camp fire type area that was recently extinguished as it was still smoldering. About 20 feet behind the fire was another location of a 10'X30' area that had also been partially extinguished. Brush 24 went in service with the booster line to completely soak the area and ensure no further ignition was possible. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
