At 8:40am on Monday, July 10th, Kennett Fire Company responded to assist Avondale Fire Company with an accident involving an overturned trailer near mile marker 20.3 on the northbound side of the Route 1 Bypass. West Grove Fire Company's Ambulance 22-1 came upon the scene and reported one patient with back pain.

Rescue crews arrived to find a pickup truck and overturned flatbed trailer carrying machinery in the median and partially blocking the northbound left-hand lane. Kennett's Engine 24 arrived just behind Longwood Fire Company's Rescue 25 and took a blocking position to protect the scene. Crews checked the vehicle for leaking fluids.

EMTs from Avondale's Ambulance 23-1 evaluated the patient with back pain and the patient declined to be transported to the hospital.

Fire Police from Avondale, Kennett, and Longwood closed both northbound travel lanes and directed traffic to pass the scene on the right-hand shoulder until tow operators from Null's Towing and Roberts Towing removed the vehicles.

Also operating at the scene were Kennett's Chief 24 and the PA State Police - Avondale.

The last units cleared the scene and the northbound travel lanes were reopened shortly before 10:00am.
