October 20, 2024

At 1:57pm on Tuesday, October 15th, the Kennett Regional Fire Department responded to an accident involving an overturned truck on Embreeville Road at Powell Road in Newlin Township. Upon arrival at the scene, crews found a tri-axle dump truck on its side. The truck had been carrying a load of dirt. The driver was uninjured.

Crews from Kennett Fire Company No. 1's Engine 24 hosed down the brakes of the truck to cool them off. Blittersdorf's Towing arrived on scene, uprighted the truck, and cleaned up the roadway with a skid-loader, loading the spilled dirt into another dump truck.

Regional Fire Police from Kennett Fire Company, Longwood Fire Company, and Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company closed Embreeville Road for three and a half hours until it was cleared of debris and reopened at 5:26pm.

At 11:18pm later that night, Kennett Fire Company responded to assist Longwood Fire Company with an accident in the area of 1476 Lenape Road in Pocopson Township. Upon arrival at the scene, crews found a one-car accident with a vehicle on its side. The vehicle was unoccupied.

Crews provided lighting at the scene and assisted the PA State Police while they searched for the driver. The driver was eventually located by Kennett Fire Company's Fire Police on Lenape Road at Denton Hollow Road as the individual walked back toward the scene. Longwood Fire Company's EMS crews were dispatched to the scene and transported the driver to Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

Regional Fire Police from Kennett Fire Company, Longwood Fire Company, and Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company closed Lenape Road between South Wawaset Road and Denton Hollow Road for three and a half hours until it was cleared of debris by Concord Towing and reopened at 2:46am.
