| On April 5, 2013. ATV 24 was officially put into the CAD system to respond to brush fires and off road medical assists! The ATV provides a specialized piece of equipment to Kennett. Equipped with a removable Brush Skid and Medical Skid, it is capable of winding its way off road in areas where larger vehicles cannot. It is particularly beneficial for use in our very own Anson B. Nixon Park located on Waterworks Drive. The park back trails are too narrow for any ordinary sized vehicle to maneuver through. If a patient is somewhere on the trail, the ATV is able to navigate it's way through the woods, secure a person or persons onto the vehicle, and transport them safely to the ambulance. It also may be used for and brush fires that may occur on the trail. The medical bed is particularly useful during all of our events here in Kennett Square such as the Kennett Run and the Mushroom Festival. The medical bed allows a patient to be transported quickly from one side of the festival to an Ambulance, without having the Ambulance wind its way through the streets or the crowd. Both skids provide a wonderful service to the community. Look for the ATV at our local events or stop on down to see it! For more photos and specifications, clink on the link below.
